Mimospira barrandei was named by Frýda (1989). It is not extant. Its type locality is Praha - Michle (Jezerka), Pernik Bed, Kraluv Dvur Fm., which is in a Kralodvorian offshore shelf claystone in the Kraluv Dvur Formation of the Czech Republic.
