Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria dolium was named by Lindström (1884). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Burgsvik, which is in a Ludfordian marine sandstone/limestone in the Burgsvik Beds Formation of Sweden.

It was recombined as Phanerotrema dolium by Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
