Pterotheca consorbina was named by Barrande (1872). It is not extant. Its type locality is Králuv Dvûr (D5), which is in a Kralodvorian offshore claystone in the Kraluv Dvur Formation of Czechia.
It was corrected as Pterotheca consobrina by Horný (1963).
