Taxonomy
Trochonema muricatum was named by Lindström (1884). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hoburgen, which is in a Ludfordian perireef or subreef limestone in the Hamra Formation of Sweden.
It was recombined as Globonema muricatum by Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
