Taxonomy
Tropidodiscus phoenix was named by Heidelberger (2001). It is not extant. Its type locality is Gastropods of the Lahn Basin Limestones: Hahnstaetten (back-reef), which is in a Givetian carbonate limestone/reef rocks in the Bücheler Formation of Germany.
