Murchisonia (Murchisonia) jackjelli was named by Cook (1997). It is not extant. Its type locality is QML 1094, near Little Rocks, 27km NW of Charters Towers, which is in a Givetian marine packstone in the Burdekin Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Murchisonia jackjelli by Wagner (2023).
