Taxonomy
Copicyntroides was named by Nazarov and Ormiston (1985) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u Sepkoski's reference number: 535]. Its type is Copicyntroides asteriformis.

It was assigned to Relindellidae by De Wever et al. (2001); and to Spumellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
