Branisamyopsis australis
Taxonomy
Branisamyopsis australis was named by Candela (2003). Its type specimen is MMP 937, a mandible (nearly complete right hemi- mandible, with the incisor and the p4-m3 series), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gran Barranca - southern cliff of lake Colhué Huapí, which is in a Colhuehuapian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
