Taxonomy
Plesiomeryx huerzeleri was named by Berger (1959). Its type specimen is BSP1952 II 1149, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gaimersheim, which is in a MP 28 fissure fill horizon in Germany.
