Taxonomy
Bellerophon conspicuus was named by d'Eichwald (1840). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Bucaniella conspicua by Koken (1896), Koken (1897), Koken and Perner (1925); it was recombined as Tetranota conspicua by Teichert (1932), Yochelson (1963), Ebbestad (1999), Wagner (2023).
