Bucanopsis nicoli
Taxonomy
Bucaniopsis nicoli was named by Reed (1921). Its type specimen is BMNH, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Locality 5. “Starfish Bed,” small cliff above S. bank of Lady Burn River, 100 meters south of South Treave Farmhouse, Thraive Glen, Girvan, which is in a Rawtheyan carbonate limestone in the South Threave Formation of the United Kingdom.
