Retispira ornatus
Taxonomy
Bucanopsis ornatus was named by Weller (1920). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 13. North of Cave Creek, 3½ miles southeast of Vienna, which is in a Chesterian carbonate limestone in the Golconda Formation of Illinois.
It was recombined as Retispira ornatus by Thein and Nitecki (1974), Wagner (2023).
