Cyrtolites nitidula was named by Ulrich (1879). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Cyrtolitina nitidula by Ulrich and Scofield (1897), Reed (1921); it was recombined as Temnodiscus nitidula by Bassler (1915), Pitcher (1939), Wahlman (1992), Wagner (2023).
