Taxonomy
Cyrtolites parvus was named by Ulrich and Scofield (1897) [Cyrtolites parvus Ulrich in Ulrich & Scofield 1897]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is River Quarries, Covington, which is in a Shermanian deep subtidal shelf limestone/shale in the Clays Ferry Formation of Kentucky.

It was recombined as Cyrtolites (Paracyrtolites) parvus by Wahlman (1992); it was recombined as Paracyrtolites parvus by Wagner (2023).
