It was corrected as Euomphalus laxus by Hall (1859), Hall (1879); it was recombined as Euomphalus (Ecculiomphalus) laxus by Hall (1876); it was recombined as Euomphalus (Phanerotinus) laxus by Walcott (1884); it was recombined as Phanerotinus laxus by Clarke and Swartz (1913); it was synonymized subjectively with Euomphalus subplanus by Yochelson (1962); it was misspelled as Euomphalus laxus by Hall and Whitfield (1877), White (1877); it was recombined as Serpulospira laxus by Blodgett and Johnson (1992), Wagner (2023).
