Straparollus (Euomphalus) leptoni was named by Tassell (1982) [Straparollus (Euomphalus) leptoni Tassell 1982b]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Chatterton Loc. Gamma, lower Receptaculites Lst, near Yass, NSW, which is in an Emsian marine lime mudstone/grainstone in the Taemas Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Straparollus leptoni by Wagner (2023).
