Taxonomy
Euomphalus planodiscus was named by Hall (1860). It is not extant. Its type locality is Briggs Gully, loc. 43, which is in a Frasnian marine shale/limestone in the Cashaqua Formation of New York.
It was recombined as Straparollus planodiscus by Linsley (1994) and Wagner (2023).
