Helicotoma larvata was named by Salter (1859). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Liospira larvata by Ulrich and Scofield (1897); it was recombined as Eotomaria larvata by Wilson (1951), Liberty (1969); it was recombined as Paraliospira larvata by Wagner (1999), Wagner (2023).
