Taxonomy
Tannuella was named by Rozanov et al. (1969) [Missarzhevsky in Rozanov et al. 1969; Sepkoski's age data: Cm Tomm-l Cm uMid-l Sepkoski's reference number: 110,885,1030]. Its type is Tannuella elata.

It was assigned to Scenellidae by Runnegar and Jell (1976), Voronin et al. (1982); to Cyrtonellida by Bengtson (1992); to Helcionelloida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Helcionellidae by Rozanov et al. (1969), Missarzhevsky (1989), Parkhaev (2002).
