Taxonomy
Loxonema conicum was named by Whidborne (1891). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lummaton Quarries, West of St. Mary Church, Lummaton Parrish, Torquay, which is in a Givetian carbonate limestone in the Torquay Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was corrected as Loxonema conica by Bradfield (1999); it was recombined as Devonozyga conicum by Wagner (2023).
