Taxonomy
Murchisonia verneuili was named by Koken (1889) [Murchisonia verneuili Barrande in Koken 1889]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Area between the villages of Měňany and Koněprusy, which is in a Pragian marine horizon in the Praha Formation of Czechia.
It was recombined as Murchisonia (Ptychocaulus) verneuili by Perner (1907), Perner (1911); it was recombined as Ptychocaulus verneuili by Wagner (2023).
