Taxonomy
Phanerotrema wannense was named by Newell (1935) [Phanerotrema? wannense Newell 1935]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Wann, which is in a Missourian marine shale in the Wann Formation of Oklahoma.

It was recombined as Glabrocingulum (Glabrocingulum) wannense by Sturgeon (1964), Kues and Batten (2001); it was recombined as Glabrocingulum wannense by Wagner (2023).
