Pleurotomaria goniostoma was named by Whiteaves (1890). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Scalitina goniostoma by Blodgett (1988); it was recombined as Manitobiella goniostoma by Blodgett and Frýda (1999), Wagner (2023).
