Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria maritima was named by Koken (1897). It is not extant.

It was recombined as Clathrospira maritima by Koken and Perner (1925) and Yochelson (1963); it was recombined as Deacheospira maritima by Wagner (1999) and Wagner (2023).
