Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria neapolitana was named by Whidborne (1892). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lummaton Quarries, West of St. Mary Church, Lummaton Parrish, Torquay, which is in a Givetian carbonate limestone in the Torquay Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Bembexia neapolitana by Wagner (2023).
