Rhineoderma piasaensis
Taxonomy
Pleurotomaria piasaensis was named by Hall (1856). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Above C.P. & St. Louis RR tracks, ΒΌ mile east of Piasa Creek, which is in a Meramecian carbonate limestone in the Salem Formation of Illinois.
It was recombined as Rhineoderma piasense by Rollins (1975); it was recombined as Rhineoderma piasaensis by Wagner (2023).
