Bellerophon (Sphaerocyclus) exquisitus was named by Spitz (1907) [Bellerophon (Sphaerocyclus?) exquisitus Spitz 1907]. It is not extant. Its type locality is Light Gray Riffskalk, Judenköpf, im Westen des Coglians, Carnic Alps, which is in a Pragian carbonate limestone in the Grau Riffkalk Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Collina exquisitus by Jhaveri (1969) and Wagner (2023).
