Taxonomy
Straparollus praestans was named by Perner (1903) [Barrande in Perner 1903]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lochkov, which is in a Pridoli carbonate limestone in the Pozáry Formation of Czechia.

It was recombined as Philoxene praestans by Wagner (2023).
