Deacheospira elliptica

Taxonomy
Trochus elliptica was named by Hisinger (1837) [The two specimens that constitute the type series of D. elliptica come from the Dalby Limestone at Furudal in the Siljan District (Fig. 6A, B, D), but are poorly preserved internal moulds. To- potype material from Furudal and from the type section of the Dalby Limestone has been examined, some showing composite preservation.is uncertain. (From Frisk & Ebbestad 2007)]. Its type specimen is NMR Mo151127, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Deacheospira.

It was recombined as Pleurotomaria elliptica by Lindström (1884), Koken (1889); it was recombined as Palaeoschisma elliptica by Donald (1902); it was recombined as Eotomaria elliptica by Reed (1906); it was recombined as Clathrospira elliptica by Yochelson (1963), Horný (1997); it was recombined as Deaechospira elliptica by Frisk and Ebbestad (2007); it was recombined as Deacheospira elliptica by Wagner (1999), Wagner (2023).
