Pleurotomaria cornuarietis was named by Sandberger and Sandberger (1853) [Pleurotomaria cornu-arietis Sandberger & Sandberger 1854]. It is not extant.
It was recombined as Porcellia cornuarietis by Holzapfel (1895), Beyer (1896), Bandel (1993), Frýda (1998), Heidelberger (2001); it was recombined as Paraporcellia cornuarietis by Wagner (2023).
