Alveosepta was named by Hottinger (1967) [Sepkoski's age data: J Oxfo-u J Kimm-u]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Amijellinae by Septfontaine (1988); to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Hottingeritidae by Omana and González Arreola (2008).
