Taxonomy
Archaeoziphius microglenoideus was named by Lambert and Louwye (2006). Its type specimen is IRSNB M.1854, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kessel, which is in a Langhian/Serravallian open shallow subtidal sandstone in the Berchem Formation of Belgium.
