Taxonomy

Ophiomyxidae was named by Ljungman (1867). It is extant. Its type is Ophiomyxa.

It was assigned to Phrynophiurida by Matsumoto (1915); to Ophiomyxina by Spencer and Wright (1966), Smith et al. (1995), Jagt (2000), Storc and Zitt (2008); to Ophiodermatidea by O'Hara et al. (2017); and to Ophiodermatoidea by O'Hara et al. (2018).

Synonyms

Ophiarachninae was named by Matsumoto (1915). It is extant. Its type is Ophiarachna.

It was considered an invalid subgroup of Ophiomyxidae by O'Hara et al. (2018).

It was assigned to Ophiodermatidae by Matsumoto (1915), Smith et al. (1995).
