Borealochelys axelheibergensis
Taxonomy
Borealochelys axelheibergensis was named by Brinkman and Tarduno (2005). Its type specimen is UR 00.100, a partial shell (anterior portion of carapace and associated hyoplastron), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Expedition Fiord, Axel Heiberg, which is in a Cenomanian estuary/bay siltstone/shale in the Kanguk Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Borealochelys.
