Emuellidae was named by Popcock (1970). It is not extant. It is the type family of Emuelloidea.
It was assigned to Redlichiida by Whittington et al. (1997); to Redlichiina by Paterson and Edgecombe (2006); and to Emuelloidea by Adrain (2011).
