Cairanoolithus roussetensis
Taxonomy
Dughioolithus roussetensis was named by Vianey-Liaud et al. (1994). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is RSV3-11 (lectotype), an egg, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rousset-Village (RSV), which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial claystone/sandstone in France.
It was synonymized subjectively with Cairanoolithus dughii by Cousin (2002); it was recombined as Cairanoolithus roussetensis by Vianey-Liaud et al. (2003), Bravo et al. (2005), Suñer et al. (2008), Sellés et al. (2013), Sellés and Galobart (2016).
