Taxonomy
Ophiopinna wolburgi was named by Hess (1960). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Naturhistorisches Museum Basel, Holotype M 622.

It was recombined as Sinosura wolburgi by Hess (1964), Hess (1965), Hess (1966) and Hess and Meyer (2008).
