Taxonomy
Ophryaster bretoni was named by Calzada and Gomez Pallerola (1993). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Muséo Geológico del Seminario de Barcelona, holotype 46841. It was considered monophyletic by Calzada and Gomez Pallerola (1993), Breton and Vizcaïno (1997).
