Metopaster hypertelicus
Taxonomy
Metopaster hypertelicus was named by Breton (1992). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Muséum d'Histoire Naturelle of Le Havre, Holotype MHNH 8427, paratypes MHNH 8428. It was considered paraphyletic by Villier (1995).

G. Breton 1992 | Metopaster with very large enlarged ultimate superomarginal plates. Adradial articular face elongated pointed distally. Abactinal development robust, high, rounded to flattened, spatula-shaped, pointed abactino-distally. Enlarged ultimate superomarginal plates in contact with seven to eleven inferomarginal plates. Intermediate superomarginal and inferomarginal plates high, squared. Raised central area reduced, to the abradial side, especially in inferomarginals. Lateral faces concave with a thickened margin. Well-defined depressed margin. Raised central area with scattered granule-pits. Pedicellariae-pits rare, when present of wing-shape type. |
