Taxonomy
Spinicharybdis was named by Rohr and Packard (1982) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ludl-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Spinicharybdis billingsi.

It was assigned to Euomphalopterinae by Wagner (1999); to Euomphalina by Sepkoski (2002); and to Spinicharybdiinae by Rohr et al. (2008).
