Deuterotetrapous triassicus was named by Nopcsa (1923). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a trace fossil. Its type locality is south quarry, Storeton, which is in a Triassic terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Deuterotetrapous.
