Taxonomy

Mimomys davakosi was named by van de Weerd (1979). It is not extant. Its type specimen is IVAU, PT3 12 m1 sin., a tooth. Its type locality is Ptolemais 3, which is in a Ruscinian mire/swamp horizon in Greece.
