It was assigned to Spiriferida by Macomber (1970); to Atrypacea by Oraspold (1956), Boucot and Johnson (1964), Bassett and Cocks (1974), Mitchell (1977), Temple (1987), Howe (1988); and to Atrypoidea by Savage and Baxter (1995), Jin and Chatterton (1997), Williams et al. (2002).
