Ophiolancea swartkopensis
Taxonomy
Ophiolancea swartkopensis was named by Shone (1986). Its type specimen is University of Port Elizabeth No. A 8773, a skeleton, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Swartkops Brickfield Ophiuroid, which is in a Valanginian foreshore mudstone in the Sundays River Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Ophiolancea.
