Gibbula (Colliculus) was named by Monterosato (1888) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than R]. It is extant. Its type is Trochus adansoni.

It was reranked as Colliculus by Lozouet et al. (2001), Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Trochinae by Lozouet et al. (2001); to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Gibbula by Monterosato (1888), Mandic and Steininger (2003).
