Taxonomy
Decorospira was named by Blodgett and Johnson (1992) [Sepkoski's age data: D Eife-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1004]. Its type is Decorospira tasselli. It is the type genus of Decorospirinae.
It was assigned to Microdomatidae by Blodgett and Johnson (1992); to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); and to Decorospirinae by Blodgett and Frýda (1999), Bouchet et al. (2005).
