Taxonomy
Cosmasyrinx (Tholitoma) antarctigera was named by Stilwell et al. (2004) [TYPE LOCALITY: Seymour Island, Antarctica; Sobral Fm (Early Paleocene, Danian).]. Its type specimen is USNM 511907 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Locality 496 - Sobral Fm, Seymour Island, which is in a Danian offshore sandstone in the López de Bertodano Formation of Antarctica.
