Taxonomy

Loxoplocus was named by Fischer (1885). Its type is Murchisonia tropidophora.

It was assigned to Lophospirinae by Knight et al. (1960); to Pleurotomariacea by Yochelson (1977); to Lophospiridae by Wagner (1999); and to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).

Eoworthenia was named by Frýda (1998). Its type is Worthenia rarissima.

It was synonymized subjectively with Loxoplocus by Wagner (2023).

Kiviasukkaan was named by Peel (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov S Wenl Sepkoski's reference number: 797]. Its type is Kiviasukkaan nelsonae.

It was synonymized subjectively with Loxoplocus by Wagner (1999), Wagner (2023).

It was assigned to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
