Squalodon bellunensis

Squalodon bariensis bellunensis was named by Dal Piaz (1901) [Kellogg (1923) states that they type is probably in the Museo Geologico Giovanni Capellini at Bologna, Italy.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Libano, which is in an Aquitanian marine sandstone in the Libano Sandstone Formation of Italy.

It was recombined as Squalodon bellunense by Dal Piaz (1916), Dal Piaz (1929), Sanders et al. (1982); it was recombined as Squalodon bellunensis by Rothausen (1968), Dal Piaz (1971), Pilleri (1985), Bianucci and Landini (2002), Symeonidis et al. (2004), Fornasiero and Del Vavero (2014), Nelson et al. (2025), Nelson et al. (2025).
