Taxonomy
Colymbosathon ecplecticos was named by Siveter et al. (2003). Its type specimen is OUM C.295670 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Herefordshire Konservat-Lagerstätte, which is in a Wenlock basinal (carbonate) carbonate/volcaniclastic in the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Colymbosathon.
